McGuinty doesn't believe UFC is a sport and so is keeping it banned from Ontario, even though it could bring millions in tax revenue to cash-strapped Ontario. MMA is a very popular spectator sports with a massive following and the UFC claimed a UFC event in Toronto could generate up to $4 million in tax revenue. McGuinty insists creating jobs and strengthening the economy are his priorities, but he'd rather do that through tax reforms (read increases), infrastructure investments and early learning.

McGuinty is an idiot. The UFC is not where it was 3-4 years ago, and clearly he fails to understand that.

There's so much opportunities to generate revenue for the province to sanction these types of events, yet he still thinks tat UFC is just animalistic brawling

Funny how they ban MMA and Approve Rugby. Both Sports are Similar in terms of risks and yet McGuinty is still Oblivious to that observation. If he continues to conduct himself in this way then many opportunities will be gone and he will look back in regret and Ontario will have to suffer for it. Approving MMA would generate a hefty amount of revenue and Attract more tourism since Toronto (along with the rest of Ontario) suffered a great deal as a result of the H1N1 scare. The way I see it, MMA is a big Avenue for Tourism and revenue, and with money, comes more opportunities as well as options to help facilitate our other needs.

You can't stymie change, and when it comes down to boxing or mixed-martial-arts, slowly the torch is being passed. To say one is more brutal than the other is moronic. Quote from Dana White:

“The misconception is, these guys can kick, knee, punch, elbow, slam to the ground, this has to be more violent and dangerous. It's not true,” says UFC President Dana White of the sport of mixed martial arts.

"What's more violent than boxing? You and I stand in front of each other for 12 rounds, and my goal is to hit you so hard in the face that I knock you unconscious. In the UFC you and I can fight, and I can beat you and win, and never punch you in the head once. We can go right to the ground, start grappling, and pull off a submission. It's not 25, 30 minutes of blows to the head non-stop.”

Mcguinty will suck the "anti-violence" lobby's penis just to get votes.
